Pioneer Elite Sc 79 or Yamaha 3030

Hi guys


I need help deciding between these 2 units. I can get the elite under 2000 and the Yamaha 300 less. Music is more important then movies and my speakers are 6 ohms.


I know they share the same dacs, but is the pioneer better suited for computer audio like HD tracks.

These are my two choices too. I am leaning towards the Yamaha, since I have always had Pioneer Elite receivers and would like to try something different. This is especially since MCACC hasn't changed much since my SC-07.

Has any have a direct comparison between these 2 units. Or should I wait for HDMI 2.0 to come out. The business only has 1 unit left of the 79 so I doubt he will take it out the box to listen to it

My suggestion is to wait a couple more weeks to make your decision..
