Had a recent, weather-related power problem at my house that caused the power to turn on and off several times. This morning, when I went to turn everything on, the Pioneer receiver did not turn on. I unplugged the unit for a short time and plugged it in again to try to reset the protection circuit but the system will not kick on with either the main switch or the remote. Does the system have to be unplugged for a longer amount of time in order to reset the protection circuit or do I have bigger problems.

On a side note, I tried a different component in the strip plug and it was ok.

Can't say. Call pio customer service or your local store. If you purchased with a warranty you'll be alright regardless. You also might want to get a surge protector.:)
