Hello. This is my first question ever in forums. Also my first buy. Im soon buying Yamaha RXV-375 AV receiver, with Pioneer SHS100 5.1 speaker system. I had my mind set to this until today, when i got to richer sounds and the guy told me it is better to buy Tannoy SFX 5.1 speakers with this, as they sound so much better. Just want to ask you is it THAT so much better? The thing is that I cant spend any more money on the thing, but yes if its THAT much better, i guess i will. Cheers

This post should be in the speaker forums. The receiver used is trivial for ultra small speakers.

Just looking at the specs alone. The pioneer looks better. Midrange play lower. 100hz vs 140hz.

And the subwoofer plays deeper. 33hz vs 45hz. The tannoy is slightly louder (+3db).

Stick with the pioneer. Or try the speaker forums for more comments.

That smacks of a sales incentive being offered by Tannoy, and a salesman looking out for his pocket. Ask him to set up both for you to listen to.

I dont quite understand the meaning of "trivial" here :/

Otherwise thank you for advice
I am not knocking that receiver. Yamaha is my favorite brand. The receiver used has no effect on which is the better speaker. If these were huge power hungry speakers then the actual brand/model of receiver might matter. Not the case here. The pioneer should outperform on any receiver.
