Hi,

My Pioneer 5045HD seems to be throwing some kind of system error. When I turn the display on, it displays some kind of garbage and shuts down. After shutting down, the LED on the panel keeps flashing red in sequence of 3 (3 red blinks - pause - 3 red blinks - pause...).

Does anyone know what it is trying to tell me? Has anyone else gone through this before?

Thanks!

Also check the "Owners Manual" trouble shooting section to see if it defines what 3 Blinking lights mean.

You may have a bad board and might need to contact Pioneer Customer Service.

Good luck.

One of the internal protection circuits has probably gone off. Now you need to find the reason. The most common are one of two reasons. 1.) the room is too hot and the media center or plasma display itself is too hot. 2.) there is a short in one of the cables. Check all cables including speaker cables. Any short or malfunction will cause the protection circuit to go off. Also check connections as suggested above.

If these suggestions don't work, call Pioneer and request service.
