From Digitimes:
Japan-based Pioneer will begin assembling PDP TVs in the US this summer, the company said.
Pioneer plans to invest 400 million to 500 million yen (about US$3.72 million to US$4.65 million) in a new PDP plant in the US. The company expects to produce 100,000 PDP TVs annually at the plant, more than 1.5 times its current US PDP TV sales.
The plant will be Pioneer’s third PDP TV production site, besides sites in Japan and the UK.
===========================
Keep in mind, this is assembly only. The panels will come from Japan. Still, it's cool they are planning on having at least 50% growth in U.S. plasma sales (perhaps more as they can import full plasmas as needed).
