Sorry if this will be a dumb question but I'm really confused (again :p). I'd like to buy a receiver which is not too expensive and has the ability of handle multichannel pcm sound via hdmi from my PS3. I've found the Pioneer VSX-519 receiver. The official site says that I need only one hdmi cable for video and audio. But I've also read on the web that this receiver cannot produce audio/multichannel pcm audio over hdmi. So what is the truth? If it does audio over hdmi is it multichannel pcm? Please help! Thanks in advance!

It does have audio over HDMI capability. When in doubt read the user's manual . It's more accurate than any web based opinion and nearly always right.

It won't decode the latest DD and DTS HD audio formats so you'll need a BRP that can if your's doesn't.

Thank you very much for the answer! I've read the manual but at some webpage, someone mentioned that maybe it can only do 2channel pcm. But it's good to hear that it can do pcm. My PS3 can decode the true-hd and dts-hd so it won't be a problem
