New Forum member here..... recently inherited the following equipment:
Pioneer VSX-74TXVi AV Receiver
Swan 4.1 front speakers
Swan 2.1 Surrounds
Swan C3 Center
Swan R3 Rears
Hsu Research VTF-2 sub
I have a Panasonic Blu-Ray and an HD cable box
The Pioneer/Swans/HSU and Blue Ray were all working well together in their former home. Everything was connected via component video and either optical or digital audio.
So now I bring everything to my home and make all the interconnects between components and the Pioneer and the Pioneer to the Samsung LCD via HDMI cables. The HSU Sub is connected via a single RCA cable. The front Swans have the top and bottom posts strapped (plus-plus, minus-minus) then a dual conductor cable back to the Pioneer.
So here's my problem:
When I first fired everything up, the center channel and sub worked fine. I could tell an auto-set-up using the Pioneers MCACC was in order though.
After I performed the auto-setup the Center and Sub stopped working..... consistently. In otherwords, it appears that depending on what the signal source is doing is affecting which speakers fire up. I have tried to change sound modes, didnt fix. I then swapped HDMI cables and the center and sub fired up...but then died out.
Ive reset the Pioneer to factory settings as well. No change.
Im lost. Something to do with HDMI? My next question may be to find a local resource to come to my home!
