This may be ever so slightly off-topic, but interesting anyway.
When I first looked at projection surfaces for my Sharp LCD, I bought a Da-Lite tripod screen. Have to say I didn't know what type of material it was, the gain or anything else - just the size. (My pre-AVS screens forum period!)
As I was setting it up, the image spilled off the screen and on to the slightly grey wall directly next to it. I was alerted by cries from my audience that the wall gave a better picture than the screen! It was true... we all saw a huge improvement over the screen in reducing pixels and improving color and contrast.
I promptly sent it back to the store and got a refund.
Since then I have attempted to duplicate the wall scenario with a blackout curtain on a frame, and it works perfectly - at about a quarter the cost too.
I don't know if this helps you make a decision on your Da-Lite, but it's worth knowing that there are better quality alternatives out there for everything... if you happen to stumble up aginst them.
