I'm about to install 4 Polk RC80i speakers in my living room. The TV is maybe about 6.5-7 feet from the left side of a 20 foot wall. The seating position will be about in the center of the room. I'd like some input on where to put the ceiling speakers. Should I put the FL more or less in the corner of the room with FR equidistant from the TV centerline, or go ahead and put the FR speaker in the other corner (making it further from the center than the FL).

Appreciate the input.

Make a center line from the center of the TV to the center of the MLP. All sets of speakers should be equal distance from the center line.

However, if your AVR can set the speaker distance individually, and has room correction software, then theoretically, you could stagger the distance(s).

I like symmetry, so I recommend my first statement...but you have to work with the space you have.

Lastly, in-ceiling speakers are permanent...mostly, so make sure you place them where they will be most beneficial for future use. IOW, make sure that is where your MLP will be for the foreseeable future.
