I'm in the planning stages of my Home Theater, and I've been reading the forums for the past month gleaning every bit of info that I can.

My question is about the placement of reflective and absorbing materials.

I've read in numerous posts how you should have some sort of reflective material above ear height, and some type of absorbing material below ear level.

Do I want it like this around the whole room ? Just the side walls ? The side and rear walls ?

Thanks for your help

Bare drywall is pretty reflective. Many people put a layer of cotton batting over the upper part of the wall to reduce reflected sound. It is less effective than InsulShield so the wall is still somewhat reflective where the cotton batting is located.
