I can't seem to find plain white speaker wire (to match the wall) that wouldn't look too obtrusive. Most seem to be clear or gray or are covered in printing. Blue Jeans Cable has some but it's fairly expensive 12 and 10 gauge stuff. Any ideas?

Having no idea what your stance is on speaker wire is special vs. wire is wire.... I provide this only as an option based on your requirement of white wire of a gauge less than 12awg.

If it helps, great. If not please just disregard.
This stuff works great, and sounds every bit as good as fancy cables. You can usually find 14 gauge also, if you want something a little thicker.

Radio Shack - got 100 ft for like $30. Very plain, one side is ribbed for identification purposes.

I thought the ribbed one is "for her pleasure"?

Interesting! I hadn't actually thought about using "non-speaker wire" speaker wire before seeing that link. There's nothing at all special about a wire labeled "speaker wire"?

It likely costs more.
