This is good news, I loved this series it looked amazing at 720p on free to air, I wonder what it will look like in proper hi-def!?
saweeeet!
The running time of this series is 660 minutes.

Not 4 episodes - 4 discs.

Mark
oh this is so awesome, was looking for this today with the (to me surprising) announcement that Sigourny's narrating. Attenborough's the bloody bomb...

The first test disc I always throw in on my friends' new systems is the Blue Planet series. I'd love this in HD as well. I've been collecting all the "life of"'s as well... Nature Porn! Mmmmm....

Awesome that they're putting the UK versions on on HD, can't wait.
I really like the series and I've been watching it in Discovery HD and they look great. I bet the HD-DVD's will look even better, though that's a pretty steep price tag (hopefully the street price will be considerably cheaper). The shows definitely lend themselves to multiple viewings.

I'm in.
I'm looking forward to this. I've seen the Caves episode, and it was amazing.
Is this available for pre-order yet? 11 hours of HD for $100, sold. Is it narriated or just eye candy?
Its all narrated by Attenborough amd excellent quality.
This was one of the early programmes shown on BBC HD - if the quality of the HD-DVD's is up to the standard of that you will be more than satisfied.

It's also and excellent series.
For those unsure, this is one of the finest shows ever seen on TV. I can't wait for it on HD-DVD!
Holy cow!!! This is amazing! They make TOP KNOTCH documentaries..... the Blue Plant series I have on DVD.... its just brilliant. This is going to be MINE!
Oh hell yes, I'm in. Brilliant!
This series must be really good or have a huge fan base as it's rocketing up the HD DVD ranks, and is currently the #4 best selling HD DVD currently, ranked at #65!!
