Hello All,
I have a 50" Samsung S5053 that I've had for 2-3 years with no issues. Lately, I've been noticing "sparklies" on the right side of the panel, especially when playing Blu-ray through HDMI. I thought that perhaps there was something wrong with the ports or the cables, but now I see it every once in awhile with my DVR which is connected via component.
Besides this recent annoying phenomenon, within the last couple of days, my plasma is doing something else strange. For instance, when I now turn off my TV (in the dark) after watching a 2.35:1 aspect movie, there is a very distinct glow where the image was displayed. Even if I unplug the TV, the glow still emits and only fades over time. I initially discovered this problem a couple of days ago when I turned off my TV in a dark room and had to double check to see if it really turned off.
Now my TV never had any burn in issues or really any IR problems that were noticeable at all until know. However, I've never heard of IR after you turn the TV off and even unplug it.
Any thoughts about this issue? Is my TV ready to kick the bucket?
