Plasma and LCD Flat Panel

466 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Stephanie M
I would like to get one of these TV's, but am very confused. I have a bright living room and my TV is on 10 or more hours a day. I have taken DLP's and LCD's from my list because, from what I understand, I would be buying a bulb every year. That would get expensive real quick. I like flat panels but I want at least a 46 inch screen and 2 HDMi's. Also, money is a big factor. I was set to get the Toshiba 50hp66 but I was told that I would have to replace it in three years because of pixels. I was told that having the TV on that much would cause a plasma to pixelate very fast. The glare from our picture window is a factor, that said I have a mitsu 46805 now and I have dealt with that for years. Does anyone have any suggestions or feed back? Thanks, Turock

I don't know when the new Westinghouse 47" is coming out by you might want to look at that. If you have a really bright room and use it that much I don't know if I would recommend a plasma. I love mine but it definitely doesn't get that much use. Plus the Westinghouse will be at a great price since they are budget tv's.
Re price & size. Much more production will come on line in a few months. The price for ~50" LCD will be reasonable. Make sure it has an anti glare coating.

I have no idea where you heard this information from, but, I do not think that is accurate in the least. The thing is, if you leave the set on one picture for 10 hours straight, it may have a little image retension but that would not make it pixelate. Honestly, that is a good set and you would have NO problems leaving it on for an extended period of time.
