I've noticed I'm getting some "bleeding" for want of a better word at the top of the screen, which occurs when the the image at the top is dark.

This does not seem to occur occur with every disc.

It only happens when playing 1.78:1 / 16:9 disc. It could be happening during 2.35:1 film but it would be unnoticed due to the black matting.

I feared my Plasma was starting to fail, BUT I have found that the problem is no there when using S Video connection. I have 2 different DVD players (neither is progressive scan) and the results are the same. The TV is a Panny and I have Audioquest cables.

Any ideas what's wrong here?

To tell you the truth, I wouyld try to swap the cables out.

about 75%of the wierd problems I run into are cable realted.

Also have you ajusted your over scan? Of you have it set with too little overscan you may start to see the edges of the picture where the image is unraveling

After all this bleeding is 2 or 3 inches into the picture, and the problem wouldn't be restricted to just the component input.

Hmmm, I guess I could try and borrow another set of component cables to do a check and see if that makes any difference, though it seems unlikely.

Anyone else experienced a similar problem?
