the dithering/noise seen on plasmas can be annoying to some....I would think that calibration could do nothing to correct this. Other than lowering contrast which may make the noise less apparent...how could greyscale and primary calibration do anything to effect dithering/noise??

It can't.


You can play with brightness, contrast and the panel drive level to see if you a particular combination helps, but for the most part the dithering just is what it is.
