Hi all.
I just made the leap into the world of plasma with this entry level model -the Insignia 32" Plasma - and I was fairly happy with it - for about 1 hr, that's when the problem began. In what can best be described as a television having an epileptic seizure - the set did something like "snow" except there were vertical green lines and it made a harsh banshee like sound. I didn't know what to do so I grabbed the remote and NOTHING. The stupid thing wouldn't respond so I try the buttons on it...again, NOTHING, so I finally just yanked the plug out. This worked...temporarily. Within a half hour it was back at it. At that point, I decided to try the other inputs and thought maybe that had solved it as they seemed fine. I even ran a break in cd for 12 hrs with no issues, but eventually it came back. Each time my only recourse was to unplug the set (and curse..the cursing being optional of course). Now it does it on every input I have tried and it does it with both a dvd player, my direct tv box and now even with OTA signals.
Any idea what's going on here?
Anyone experience anything like this with their plasma (irregardless of brand)?
I took some short vids of it freaking out with my digicam...maybe I will post them when I get a chance.
The "geek squad" is supposed to be coming on Tuesday for an in home test/repair but I don't have much confidence in them and the tv has been out of commission at this point, longer than it worked for. I can't believe I got such a lemon. I had read good things about this model on this forum, which is why I chose it over an LCD.
