I'd like to purchase a nice plasma set, but I'm having a hard time figuring where on earth I can install the set. Here is the dilemma, which I think most people who have an older home can appreciated.

In just about all older homes, the fireplace serves as the focal point. Unfortunately, the fireplace doesn't leave a good location for a TV. Currently I have the old CRT tube sitting in front of the fireplace. I'd like to somehow come up with an elegant solution that would allow for the TV and fireplace to co-exist without putting a crick in my neck.

I'd like to know what others have done as an alternative to the above fireplace installation.

I've been thinking of a couple ideas.

1: Suspend the TV from cables or chains that would allow for movement of the set up and down.

2: An articulating arm that would swing out from right to left. I actually don't know if I could find one long enough to give me the position I want.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Mike
