Hi all,


I'm personally a plasma fan, but a friend needs an LCD for his given application (32"-37", lots of direct sunlight) so I need some help.


What are the best LCDs on the market in the 32"-37" range?


From what I understand, Sony, Sharp, and Samsung are the LCD leaders, but what models are the best? Response time is impt as my friend watches a lot of sports.

It depends if he wants clouding, banding or clouding problems.

I'd look into the Panasonic LX60/600 series tvs especially because they have much deeper blacks then some of the other models making it closer to plasma. Best of all they don't seem to have the issues that sony, sharps and samsungs have or any reports of problems with the set other then a slight lean towards strong reds in the picture out of the box which can be corrected easily by adjusting the picture settings.


Response times on the panny's are listed at 8ms which should be plenty fast enough for sports as well.

Samsung LN-S3292D. I had bought 3 others including a Sony and this is the best lcd i have ever seen. You can get for $1100-1400 range.

I know you are familiar with JVCs. They've introduced several new 32" and 37" 768p sets within the past six months including a set with a 120hz 'refresh' rate.
