My Niece and her husband want to buy a new tv but she was told a plasma wont work at the altitude of Reno. I tried the faq but the links are broken and a search didn't tell me much. TIA.

.. my readings here & from AVS resident Spidey-man (RandyWalters) clears plasma's up to 9k feet; also was mentioned if they're sold locally (viewable), then most likely they're OK.

No worries about Reno (which i think is less than 5,000 feet above sea level). Plasma TVs will be fine at that altitude. Plenty of folks in Colorado have plasmas with no problems at all so Reno would be a non-issue.
