Plasma shipping case

380 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  EarlyAdopt
I am going to be moving in about a month. I am moving a short distance but I am really worried how I am going to transport my 50inch plasma tv. I wish I would have kept the shipping box when I got it. Does anyone know where I can get one of those cardboard shipping boxs or some other way of packing it safely.

Thanks

Chad

Why not check with your local U-Haul store? They sell plenty of moving boxes. However, if your distance is really short (less than 200 miles) - I'd just rent a van from Enterprise and do the move yourself. That way, you'll ensure you don't leave your plasma in the hands (or on the floor) of UPS. :Q
There are cases on EBay that have been used to transport flat panel monitors. I am moving at the end of April and no longer have the box. Neither the moving company or the original install company will move the plasma. The cases seem to run from about $100 to $300 (ask about shipping costs to your zip code before bidding). Some even have wheels on the bottom.

I think Plasmas are to valuable for bubble wrap and cardboard boxes and you're better off keep your baby in operational condition than risk any damage, even a scratch.

Good Luck! :D
