I've got a wall mounted Panasonic 42" plasma.


I've just installed four in-ceiling speakers, and a powered sub, with a Onkyo 5.1 receiver.


I don't really want to purchase a center speaker, can I use the Panasonic speakers as the center speaker? or is it better to use none at all? If I do use it, is there any way to convert speaker wires into audio in L/R (composite cable ends)?

The center speaker is one of the most important for surround sound setups, and really your plasma speakers will suck in comparison (assuming you have good in-ceiling speakers). Plus the plasma's speakers won't be able to take amplified inputs, so it may be difficult to get the balance and levels right.


You can't take amplified speaker wires and just attach composite cable ends to them to pipe into your TV.


If you have the money I'd recommend getting a decent center, or possibly putting a fifth in-ceiling speaker as the center one.
