Hello,
With the new Playstation 2 price drop, I am very tempted to buy one. Up until now, I have been using a borrowed PS2 and Xbox to watch my DVDs. I have a Sony 32 inch Wega TV that does not have progressive scan, so I don't think it is "worth" it for me to get a progressive scan DVD player.
So my two options are:
1) $300 CAD for a progressive scan DVD player.
2) $300 CAD for a Playstation 2.
My TV does have component and S-Video connections, so I could use these for PS2 or the DVD player. Has anyone compared the component output, S-Video output and/or the RCA output from a PS2 to an average quality DVD player? Will I notice any difference in picture quality when viewing on a 32 inch non-progressive scan Wega TV?
Thanks for your feedback,
Raymond
