This weekend I have the pleasure of trying a PLV-60 in my home theatre. One this I have noticed is that the contrast is not particularly stunning (compared to the NEC VT540 that I had on trial last weekend).

I find this unusual because of the reviews I've read. All reviews quote that the contrast is a great improvement over similar LCD projectors.

After some investigation I've discovered that the unit is in fact a PLV-60 and not a PLV-60HT. The HT must be a home theatre version of the PLV-60. Upon more investigation (comparing Sanyo's Canada and US web sites) I see the HT has a higher contract ratio specification.

Can anyone verify that there are in fact two diffenent versions of this projector? Maybe the PLC-60 is more for the office and the PLV-60HT for the home?

I believe the PLV-60 came first and was followed by the PLV-60HT. There has been some revisions in the software and the only way you can be guaranteed of getting the latest revision is to buy the Studio Experience Cinema 13-HD.
