I have the Motorola HD 6200 STB...

What im wondering is, can I use say S-video? Composite cables? or even Firewire to connec this to my computer? I have a capture card that has both S-video and Composite connects on it..

Is it possible to use any one of these forms or is it strictly firewire due to the transfer speed?

Also my firmware is 8.06 and I have read that you need firmware 7.15..Is 8.06 also acceptable? Or is it the specifics of 7.15 that you need to do this?

Also when in the setup it says "software filtering" and one of the "Extended Types" says PVR Enablde : NO. Why is this?

And why isn't VOD enabled also?

Any help or comments to my questions would be greatly appreaciated!

Sure you can hook it up via s-video or composite, it just won't be a HD signal, if you want to record HD, you need to use firewire. Check the recorders forum here, probably more useful information there.
