I don't think this is a good idea. If you read this story carefully, you will find that some of the bans MS have been performing may be because they could be detecting out of region games on consoles. Might or might be true.

"It's also possible MS also bans based on stuff like bad credit card info for your country, running a NTSC machine with euro-address/credit card (or inverse), having out-of-region (arcade) games and demos on your HDD, unofficial 360 HDD, internet downloaded gamesaves etc. There's no clear view on all this yet."

EDIT: oh well, it's your $
They won't ban you for this. With the new spring update they've locked each region. You can no longer download content available online in other regions.

no, they didnt. their main focus was preventing other countries from downloading movie rentals and such from the US, because of the licensing that MS has with the movie studios

i downloaded Eternal Sonata (Trusty Bell) and Tenchu Z, from the japanese marketplace, AFTER the spring update.

also, many others have downloaded Pirates of the Caribbean, from the European marketplace.

so in short. US users can do whatever they want, other countries cant come into the US marketplace and do what they want anymore... from how i understand it.

That may be correct. I know that I'm in Italy, and I can no longer download the music videos and movies, as they give me a region error when I try.
yea, from the sounds of it, they werent really trying to rain on everyone's parade, just trying to operate in the guidlines set by their content providers.

i notice there are quite a few dutch and deutsch playing halo 3. doesnt bother me, but obviously there are still work arounds for the region stuff, and i havent heard of an bans specifically for that.
