Don't everybody explain this at once now.

Look. How bout this. The first person who can reveal what this means wins an authentic 1940 Presidential Election ballot with Franklin Roosevelt's name on it. Including prepaid shipping.

How bout them apples.

I don't get it. Maybe if you've actually seen Voom it makes sense!

It seems there are a lot of VOOM spokesmen on these boards. I'm envious. I think I would really like the service, but I need broadband and I'm in an apartment (don't want to mess with dish and antenna) and I can't affort both VOOM and Comcast right now. Maybe some day.

Dedicated HDTV Satellite service different from, but not unlike DirectTV
I know, I just love to use that line from Spock's Brain (ST: TOS). You know, when the girl says "Brain and brain, what is brain??!!"

That's the greatest line ever.

The person making the Voom Spokesman comment is a well know Voom hater. His only purpose on this forum is to trash Voom and sing the praises of D*. All I can figure is that he was trying to make a joke that a dead person would be a good Voom spokesman?

Finally. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, Max. I was afraid I was going to have to go to bed tonight still trying to puzzle through this. What a relief.

PM me your mailing address so I'll know where to mail the FDR ballot.

Hold the phone. The judges are trying to determine whether to award you the prize. They're a little stumped by "D*". They wanna know is that DirecTV or Dish Network?

That's good enough for me. The prize is yours.

p.s. we better stop with all this silliness now. Larry has been patient with us. But I'm sensing by what he said in another thread that his patience is starting to wear thin. Better get back to talking movies for awhile till the heat's off. :)

What I don't understand, Robert, is this is the third time I've awarded the prize. First on the Iraq Forum, then on the Time Machine thread, and now this one. And so far only Joseph (on the Iraq Forum) has collected the prize.

It's a good prize. I've sold em on eBay for as much as a hundred dollars. That's better than the coffee mugs and tee shirts the radio stations give away. And on Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right people always take the prize. I wonder what I'm doing wrong.

Maybe they think I'm so loony that they're afraid to give me their mailing address?
