Please Help! Digital Camcorder direct to DVD recorder burn DVD

785 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  MoPhat
Hi Guys,

Here's the situation (Please Help! :) )

I have this digital camcorder: JVC Everio G Digital Camcorder with Digital Still Mode Model: GZ-MG20US

(Searchable on Best Buy's website)

I want to burn a DVD with this digital camcorder connected directly to a DVD recorder. Here are a couple examples of DVD recorders: Liteon LVW-1101H OR RCA DCR8060N

The problem is that the camcorder has USB 2.0 for 'high speed video transfer' and I think the DVD recorders have firewire. What should I do?

Thanks.

Unfortunately you bought the wrong camcorder. DVD recorders only have firewire digital connections and most of them don't even have that. So you will have to use an analog connection. If your camcorder has an S-Video output, use it. Otherwise, use it's composite output. Hopefully your camcorder will have one of those 2 ports. On the bright side, the analog outputs will probably look just as good as the USB2 port. Naturally, in addition to the video connection you will need the 2 audio connections (left/right). That cable probably came with your camcorder.
