I was playing my gamecube tonight, and i thought something was burning outside in the hall in my apartment complex, but it turned out to be my gamecube! Later on i decided to play a couple more hours to see what happened. I switched the surge protector to a different socket in my apartment, and this time i had no problem. Was there something possibly wrong with that socket? What was happening to my GC, and is it damaged? thank you for the help

I would pick up an outlet checker from home depot and check for incorrect grounding. Also, you could excange the unit just to make sure it was not damaged.
