Please help: How to get sound out when using an Amazon Firestick 4K plugged into TV HDMI

Hi,

I have a new 4K fire stick plugged into an HDMI port on my LG OLED TV. The TV recognizes the stick and I am able to download apps.

I am using an optical cable for the audio out to my pioneer receiver.

The problem is I am not getting any sound at all.

(I cannot plug the stick into my Pio as it is not 4K.)

Can someone tell me how to fix this? Thank you.

You might ask this in the owner's thread for your particular LG in Displays. I have an LG with a 4K Firestick connected. Like you, my Yamaha doesn't support 4K, but the audio works just fine via optical or ARC.

Good idea, thank you

Using your LG remote: Press and hold the Settings button, then select Sound/Sound Out/Audio Out (Optical/HDMI ARC) and verify Digital Sound Out=Auto (you may need to toggle it).
