Please help me test my new Z1

307 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  BreakStuff
I just bought a Z1 from a major NYC camera store and it will arrive later this week. I didn't know I could get a free Sanyo DVD player with it, but they were kind enough to let me know about this. I have seven days to check it out, so I'd like some advice on how to do this. As a newbie I know I should check for dead pixels and panel alignment, but I don't know how to do this. There may be other things to look for, but I don't know what they are. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'd like to thank the following AVS Forum members for helping me make my decision: CMRA, rlindo, Bobby_M, shift, Paradigm, cfoster, and Breakstuff.

If you do not seen anything and are truely happy with the picture,, then do not try to look for issues. It will bother you and haunt you in bed if you "TRY" looking for them ;) .

Trust me or anyone on here will tell you the same.

Just enjoy the nice quality of the Z1. :)
yeah man, my advice is to watch some movies and not look for problems. if you see stuff during normal viewing then you can fire out the test patterns. Other than the two things you mentioned, the only other problem area would be vertical banding and trust me, you'll know it if you see it during normal viewing.
Congrats on the new purchase and I'm sure you will love your Z1. :)
