I am trying to get Showtime HD on direcTV. On my signal meters, I have two choices: 101 and 110/119. On 110/119, I have 78% strength.

Now when I check transponders 8,10, and 12 I get nothing. The receiver is set to oval dish/ 3 LNBs.

When I try to tune 543 or 90, I get a searching for satellite message.

Please help.

Also make sure the combiner is installed properly. Make sure that Sat C and Sat B inputs go into the right combiner inputs, and the combiner output is connected to the 18V side for Sat B on the multi-switch.

My DTC100 is expected any day now - but in the meantime I installed the Sat C kit - I too have a question concerning the installation. After installing the LNB I changed my UTV settings to 3 LNB Oval and checked for signal strength both 101 and 119 are unchanged for 110 on trans 8 I have GREEN signal locked at 80+% and trans 12 the same but on trans 10 along with a signal strength of 80+ it is now RED and states Wrong Satellite (Sat B) - is this the way it should be since the signals are combined? Thanks

I am assuming it is the right LNB. It came in a sat c kit. As far as the connections, you just plug the LNB into the multiswitch. The multiswitch is built into the arm of the satelitte dish.

Receiving 509 and 199 perfectly.

Are you using the combiner that should have been included in the Sat C kit?

The LNBs from 110 and 119 both plug into the combiner. The combiner then goes to the multiswitch.

You will never believe the solution to my sat C problem. After trying everything we could think of, while watching transponder 12, we were seeing a flicker of a signal 0-15%. I couldn't think of why we were not getting a good signal, then it dawned on me...maybe we have an obstruction. So I went outside and carefully looked around. The satelite dish was pointed right at the top of a tall pine tree. Since the LNB's were offset, I figured the signal was clearing the tree. After all, I had good reception on 101 and 119. This was an evergreen tree also, so it had foliage when the dish was erected. Then I went back and looked at 101 and 119. Since it was windy this AM, I noticed that the signals were slightly fluctuating.

Maybe the tip of the tree is blocking 110 only, I thought. And 101 and 119 are both clearing on either side of the tip?

Well we went and got a crane today and cut this 100ft pine tree down. Took most of the day.

Lo and behold, signal strength on all three satelites are now in the 90's. This seems like a very unusual situation. Just thought I would pass it along.

Isn't it amazing what a few people will go through just to get one High Definition channel? We are getting Sho-HD now and ready for Discovery-HD
