Please Help My Hdtv Ignorance!

Hi,

I am definately a newbie regarding HDTV and DVI - but i have come acrross a major problem that i cannot seem to find help for.

I have had my HDTV for a while now, which supports 480p via a DVI socket - I also have a ATI Radeon 9600 256mb, with DVI out.

I tried to connect my PC to the TV via these two sockets, but when i do - my monitor blanks out - and nothing is outputted to the TV!

Does anyone know why this would happen? - I assumed that something would output to the TV via this connection - but alas, nothing!

I have all the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI, but still no luck.

Can someone please please help me with what i assume is a no brainer !

If your display is just going black it sounds to me like you are sending it a resolution it doesn't like. Try to drop down and send a very low resolution to the display until you get it to display something and then work your way up to a higher resolution. If you can't get anything to display I'd recheck your connections....
