Hi all,

I'm trying to find a 5.0 speaker system that will replace a set of relatively large home theater speakers in my parents living room. I was looking at both of these 5.0 systems (already have a sub) at newegg for about $199 and wanted to get your opinion on which you'd recommend:

- Polk RM10

- Energy Take Classic 5.0

I know the Polks are older/discontinued but it seems like the Polks have 2 woofers in the Center as opposed to just one in the Energy - does that mean that the voices will be clearer in the Polk than the Energy? Which would you recommend out of the two?

The room size is about 15 x 20. Thanks for your help -- looking forward to hearing back.

Go with something bigger. Your room is too big for a micro system IMO. I would look for a system that goes a little deeper (60hz), compared to the 100hz of those systems.

My sister put a system from Polk in a room similar to your size room. To me it sounds terrible without much midrange/midbass. The sound was definitely lacking.

Find satellites with larger woofers (5 1/2"- 6 1/2"). Those dinky 3 1/2" won't do justice in a room that size.
