Hello everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my current Energy speakers (C-500) to a possibly PSB T55's or T65's, complete with center channel and rear speakers (B-25's).

My question is, I already have a very good and powerful sub, (Energy ESW-V10), will I miss something if I go with the T55's instead of the T65's?

The T65's are big and bulky, that's my only issue. What do you think?

Also, should I go for the new PSB line instead (T5 / T6)? they are smaller.

Thank you for your input.

I originally went to with the T6's but stepped down to the T5's because the T6s were just too big for the size of the room. I am extremely happy with the T5's. They so sound clean and have awesome midrange and quite a bit of bass too. The T55's are good too but they were a little bright for my tastes but you can find some great deals on them. If you live in L.A. check out Pacific Sales in Pasadena, they carry PSB and will give great deals.

Thanks, I live in Vancouver and there's no PSB dealers here, so I'll have to buy online.

I did listened to the T65's at someone's house, I liked the clean, crisp sound, but I did find them slightly on the bright side, but not overly bright. I prefer neutral, not bright not warm.

Do you think the T5s are more neutral but still deliver clear clean sound?

I've never heard the T65 but my buddy and I were at the dealer and we sampled side by the T55's the T5 and the T6's. We all agreed (including the dealer) the T5's and T6's sound much smoother, neutral and had more clarity than the T55's. Actually the T5's seemed to have more of a presence and vertical sound stage where the T6's had more bass and a bit wider sound stage. I think this may have to do with the tweeter being higher and on top of the midrange drivers on the T5's. The T5's would do better in a small to medium size room where the T6's would do better in a larger room. My room is a about 16' X 18' and the T5's are perfect for this size room. I bet they would even do well in a larger room. BTW I have them paired with an Image C5 center, Image B5's for surrounds and a Velodyne minivee 8" sub all powered by a Denon 3310ci. I dont think you can be dissapointed with the T5's.
