Every year I think I will finally be able to do what I want to do with my home AV gear, and every year I am dissapointed and put it off.
This is what I want to do.

I want a media center to store all my DVDs on hard drive (about 400 currently). I want it to store music and photos as well. I also want it to be a pvr with at least 2 tuners and record at least 200 hours of standard definition. At least 2 tuners of HDTV with at least 50 hours of HDTV record time. No TV will be attatched to the media center.
I want to have all of my televisions connected to this media center and able to download and/or stream ANY media to any TV (except HDTV to a nonHD set). I want to be able to schedule recordings from any TV in the house. I want to be able to set parental controls on a individual TV basis, or individual user basis.
Also, if possible, I want it to work with directv. I am a huge fan of directv and everytime I try HDTV over cable the quality is terrible. Plus I find cable to be horribly priced.
