I have a sony HT D660 that works perfectly fine, I use a dish with optical output and get 5.1, I use my playstation and get either dts or dd while using the same fiber optic cable, I got a sony dvd player as a wedding gift, and it only has coaxial output, I took the coaxial (orange) cable that came with the receiver and hooked it up, put a couple of different movies, and I can´t seem to get digital sound, neither dts nor DD, what could be wrong?

thanks

You didn't tell us what DVD player you got as the gift, but check in the DVD player settings to make sure that it is outputting RAW or Bitstream over the Digital Output. Also, make sure that it is set to output over the digital output, rather than the analog outs.

See how easy it is when you read the manual!
