HELP!!!

The "Please Wait" screen won't go away. I have unplugged all inputs and outputs and still nothing. I have left it unplugged for days and still nothing. I have a Replay TV 5040 with commercial advance. It is only 2 years old purchased new from Replay/Sonic Blue. What is the problem, could someone please help.

The hard drive is either dying or corrupted. Either way, you'll need to pull the drive and run diagnostics on it to find out. It's easily fixable, though it may cost you your shows and the price of a new drive.

l8er's site has all the info you need. Link.
Sounds like the hard drive is toast. If you are still using the stock drive, this is a good opportunity to upgrade to something larger.
Like others have said, it should be a drive problem. I offer them as well www.replaytvparts.com

Hey Mikey,

Where can I find IR to RF converters? I have a 5504 that has a weak IR receiver.

Last year, I purchased this converter from Weaknees.com, but it did not work.

It might not be a drive problem. I've had that same problem with my 5060 for a couple of months now. I've tried a new hard drive, new cable, both replay patch versions and three different images.I've also tried unplugging various cables that lead into it but as of two days ago the replay still freezes up ever couple of days. I'm just about out of options , good luck to you and keep us apprised of how your doing.

I've used the RCA sat remote extender (purchased from Walmart several years ago for $50) and it worked well.

As for your weak IR receiver. It is normal to have to point the remote toward the 5500 to get it to accept commands. It is not normal that the remote must be inches away from the Replay in order for it to work. If your situation is the later, it can and should be repaired.
