I need some data and help from a PLV-60 owner.

I have read some disturbing reports of dust build-up in the Sanyo PLV-60. I have had projectors with dust problems in the past and they drive me crazy. I don't want to buy this projector if it's also going to have a dust problem.

So, if you are having to clean your projector more than once a month or so, please try this experiment and let me know if the dust problem improves.

Go get a filter. I think any sort of decent HEPA filter will do. Make sure it is big enough to cover the 3 intake openings on the bottom of the projector. Tape or some how seal the exterior filter over the bottom of the projector to provide an additional layer of filtering.

The questions are:

1) Does this extra exterior filter cause any overheating problems?

2) Does this exterior filter improve the dust problem.

I'm trying to determine if the dust causing the problem is coming from the outside air through an inferior filter system, or if there is a "dust leak" elsewhere in the projector.

If it starts to overheat, remove the exterior filter immediately. I don't want anyone to break their projector experimenting with this! Thanks!
