Trying to decide on SP 7200 vs Sanyo PLV70, any thoughts on which is better assuming cost is irrelevant? Dealer keeps saying LCD has better lumens, contrast etc. but I have seen the SP 7200 and loved it... Thanks!

Also, for use with the SP 7200 what screen material is recommended? White or one of the silver/grey types?

I'd go for the 7200. Gray screen for moderate size screens 9' wide or smaller. 10' wide or larger, high gain screens. These are just estimations, it also depends of your tastes in picture.

I agree with the above posts. I have tried the PLV70 and rejected the idea because of screen door effect and discolorations. The 7200 is a better projector but not perfect by all means. Audit the 7200 by sitting underneath the projector (if ceiling mounted :D ) and judge its noise level. Do this on as many 7200 as you can audit because there appears to be variability among them. Mine sounds like an automatic coffee grinder!!

I agree that unless you need the the light output of the PLV-70 that the 7200 will produce a better picture. However at this point I would also consider both the Benq PE8700 and the Optoma H76 as superior alternatives for a lower cost HD2 machine with superior contrast.
