It's not the HDMI cable unless you're not using a High Speed HDMI cable. A standard HDMI cable will probably not support the BD data stream. The PS3 is funny so you may have to make some setting changes on it or on your Samsung. Sounds like your tv doesn't like what it's being fed as far as signal goes so I'd look at your PS3. BTW, you don't need "M" cables. They are grossly overpriced. Just make sure the High Speed cables are certified from a reputable manufacturer so you can take them out of the equation.

so, i recently bought a LC-40dD8UT tv

and i have a ps3 hooked up to it. Everything shows perfect in game mode, however, my problem is that when i try to play blu-rays on my ps3, the tv displays a message; "not compatible with this signal"

. I have tried a few different hdmi cables, even monster hdmi cables dont help the situation, please help however you can.
