Hi, sorry if this has been covered, I tried to search. I've lurked around on here and when I had a question I figured I should register. Hopefully I can help other people too.


I have a Samsung PN50B530 with the glass strip along the bottom. I think it's ugly and doesn't suite my room. Has anyone ever removed this. It looks like it might clip on there. I'd even be willing to break it off possibly if it's doable and won't ruin my warranty or something.


Any advice on this is appreciated. Thanks.

why? what's the big deal? if it bothered you so badly did you considered other models or brands?

Well, mostly cause I didn't notice it at all in the showroom. In my home, I don't like the look of it. Also, I have it wall mounted which reveals it even more than stand mounted, and it reduces the clearance I have with my centre chanel (also wall mounted). I'd like to lower the TV closer to the centre speaker. Not to mention the value of this tv won me over even if I had known I wouldn't like the glass.


Blue light?? What blue light. I'm talking about the glass strip along the bottom that is tinted red.

Electric tape... or buy some scrap from a tint shop to cover it... Ghetto but it wont ruin the tv...
