I'm a newbie and just got the 5 of my 5.1 HT speaker setup, All my speakers are B&W. DM602 s2 fronts, lcr6 s2 center and dm600 s3 surround. My room is 20x11 with the HT part 11x11. My budget is $325-375. absolutely no more. I'm 50% music and 50% movies.

The sub would have to go directly behind the plasma. Is that a problem?

What sub can I get that would fit my budget and needs?

PS: My preferred dealers carry B&W and Paradigm.

Thanks

You've got two options. The HSU stf-1 at $299 or the hsu designed bic america acoustech h-100 at $229.00. Both of these can only be purchased online. Don't let that deter you, they will absolutely perform better than anything you'll find at a B&M store for the price.

You'll have to experiment with different locations for the best performance out of your sub. More than likely one corner in the front of your room will suffice.

I've got my list down to the HSU STF-1 which is well within my budget, but wonder if it is powerfull enough for my setup/room. If I go $25-50 over my budget I could get either a STF-2 or a SVS PB10-ISD. My receiver is an Onkyo TX-SR602 which HSU says go well with their subs.

Any opinions?
