I am able to get these speakers at a reduced cost. I cannot decide what to do. I figured out that I'll either go with the a9's with no sub or the a7's with the sub. I currently have monitors 70's and Cs2 and PSW10. My receiver is the Denon x4000. Which combo will give me the best sound. Also if I go with the a9's should I keep my sub or get rid of it. If I do go with the A9's will the bass be adequate if I cannot get a sub for a while. Lastly I am leaning towards the a9's, and I do I go that route could I keep the sub and only use it for a really low frequency or does it not work like that.

My room is 13 1/2 feet by like 30 feet. My listening Area though is 13 1/2 by about 14 feet. I attached a link to pics of the room. The ceiling is 7 1/2 feet and is a drop ceiling so the tiles are porous and absorb some sound. Also I sit about 12 feet from the screen.

The A9s probably play as low as that polk sub. That sub won't give you much extra. The A9s without a sub (a good sub) might need more power than your AVR can provide if you want to crank it and to produce good bass.

If you don't plan to add an amp or a good sub down the road, I'd go for the A7s with the 660 sub.

A7's with the 660wi is my choice if your goal is a home theater with focus on TV/Movies

Unless you plan on getting an external amp to power the A9's

For most applications yes its is plenty. Not most applications use a subwoofer.

If you were going to run the A9's in just stereo mode I'd say there is plenty of power but you are running 5 speakers.

A9's sound best with a dedicated amp to power them. At least with the x4000 it has pre-outs so when you want to add an external amp it will be easy.

The 660wi is the best subwoofer you can get from Polk, and for $228 you can't do any better. But if you were paying retail there are better subs

If your goal is TV and Movies I recommend a subwoofer
