i HAVE A CHANCE TO GRAB A PAIR OF BRAND NEW POLK MONITOR 70'S FOR $220.00 & CENTER CS2 CENTER FOR $100.00. My other option was to buy the TSI400 for $500.00 pr. Is the difference between the two worth it? I got a chance to listen to the TSI400 and like them but not the monitors.

Hello!

I have a pair of cherry monitor 70's and I have been pretty happy with them. I think you will see more performance out of the 70's and they will be "louder". I'm only pushing 80w to them(upgrading rec soon), and they def need more do at least 100+. From around the net, I have seen people happier with the 70's in general but I havent had a chance to listen to the 400s. Also, I still havent "broken" in my speakers yet, people have said they sound a good bit better after 100 hours, but take it for what its worth.

220 is a pretty good price for both, I paid 300 for cherry pair.

I also have a CS2 which I think has been great!! Ive had to turn the center channel up a bit since my 70s were so loud, but I was in a smaller room. I like the cherry better with my wood floors as well, Hope that helps.

Also, get a sub
:D

If I was going to send $500 to upgrade, I would spend it a pair of Boston Acoustics CS226 speakers.

IMO they are much better-sounding speakers for a bit less money, and the CS225CC center speaker is only around $100 now and is much better IMO than the CS2 or CS20.
