I thought it would be interesting if antenna users posted what antenna they are using and what their TVFool results are.

Please post:
1. Antenna model & where installed (indoor, attic or outdoor)
2. Preamp or amp used (yes/no) and model #
3. Rotor used (yes/no)
4. Number of TV tuners connected
5. A link to your TVFool results
6. Station Call Sign letters of lowest channel on the TVFool list that you can reliably receive 24/7 (even it there are channels higher on the list that you cannot receive)

Two channel master 2001 mounted outside. One aimed NorthWest, the other aimed South. Both have an FM trap before being amplified by channel master 3418 8 way distribution amplifier.

These are driving an HDHomeRun, so there is no analog tuner. The FM trap destroys channel 6, and damages channel 5, but is necessary for reliable reception.

NorthWest antenna gets these channels

1. unmodified (original) 4228 and cheap VHF dipole in attic. ~75' run of RG6.

2. no amp

3. no rotator

4. 1 TV

1. Old style CM4228 UHF, YA-1713 VHF, HD-6010 FM

2. Preamp CM-7777

3. Rotor NTE U-106 Limited need to rotate antenna as I offset VHF -105 degrees from UHF. When UHF points to Boston VHF points to NH.

4. 8- port splitter -currently 5 TV tuners connected

5. http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...da324a9aefbd0f

6. WFXT - However that is somewhat misleading because WBPS, WLVI, WGBX, and WSBK have frequent outages even though modeled higher than WFXT.

1. CM4221 at 10' above ground level and a Winegard HD-6000 FM antenna for FM and VHF-Hi channels 7, 8, and 10

2. Winegard HDP-269 preamp

3. No rotator (I have a Channelmaster 9251 rotator in storage, but I prefer a fixed location so my Tivo can get everything when I am away from the TV.)

4. 2 way splitter

1. Antennas: AntennasDirect 91XG (UHF) and Winegard YA-1713 (high VHF), on roof

2. Pre-amp: Channel Master 7777

3. Rotor: yes

4. Normally four tuners, with the signal split equally among them.

5. TV Fool results

6. Weakest reliable station: WRLK-DT (RF 32, NM 4.2 dB). All stations above that level come in reliably, except some low-power translators that aren't on the air yet. No stations below that level come in reliably, although some do show up fairly regularly in the evening and morning, down to about NM -10 DB.

1. Cm3021, CM VHF Crossfire mounted on mast attached to chimney, 1 Radio Shack U75R on tripod mount

2. Preamp - Yes - WineGard 19dB UHF only. no preamp on VHF. The two cables are run down to a channelPlus 3025 Multiroom Distribution system, with a Radio Shack 4 port Distribution amp hanging off that for more feeds

3. Rotor installed, but not normally used

4. tuners connected - 2 NTSC computer TV tuners, 1 ATSC computer TV tuner, 4 CECBs, 3 analog TVs, 1 DTVPAL DVR, 1 HDTV, and one other box that has 2 ATSC tuners, and 1 Yamaha A/V reciever (for FM). Currently not in use - Samsung DTB260F ATSC tuner.

I have an XG-91 @43' high and a Funke psp.1922 @ 37' high, both pointed east on my tower. The XG-91 runs into the "all channel" side of a Channel 16 Jointenna. The Funke goes into the single channel side of a channel 11 Jointenna. At 30' I have an "A" channel (14-19) Blonder Tongue UHF antenna that is pointed north and enters into the single channel side of the channel 16 Jointenna. Next on the tower is another Funke psp.1922 that is pointed northwest and goes into the "all channel" side of the channel 11 Jointenna. The two Jointennas are then output into the UHF and VHF sides of a CM 7777 and run from there to the grounding block and into the house.

In my attic, I have an Antennacraft MXU59 that outputs into a Winegard AP-8275 preamp and then down to the basement where it is on the single channel side of a channel 31 Jointenna. The coax from the tower enters the all channel side of this same jointenna.

Once condensed into a single feed, the signal is split 4 ways into 2 TVs, a Samsung HD tuner box and a Pal DVR.

While I am able to receive all channels reliably down to -16dB if I manually rotate antennas, I use no rotors, so with this setup, I receive all stations at 96% and above 24/7 down to w48DB. W30BU and WHRM are both plenty strong enough to receive, but are blocked by jointenna roll-off filtering. WJFW is my channel 16, and during the day I get 50-60% signals with dropouts occasionally, but during evenings it os 100% reliable with signal readings reaching 90-95%.

I get nervous when signal strengths go lower than 90%, so I strive for great signal. Everything from WFXS and stronger come in at 100% most of the time with occasional drops to 98% signal. These channels have never dropped out, even in storms, unless the station itself has lost or drastically lowered power.

I am on the west side of a hill and need the height (43' and 37') in order to receive these stations with great signal strength. At 25', all of these stations would be 1 edge signals and would be quite multipathed by the hill and the tall pines on top of it.

All coax is RG6 quad shield. The CM 7777 has the FM trap in. The tower is grounded at the base, and the coax is grounded to the same spot. A ground wire is then run from this local ground to the main electrical ground 12' away. All coax was assembled by me and each run is a single length of coax to eliminate mid-run couplings. Because of my 2 story house and my taller tower and multiple antennas, amps and Jointennas, I have over 250' of cable in use for TV.

My tower has changed a touch from the photo. The top of the tower is about 45' high. I lowered the XG-91 about 2' so that I could put a 1/2 wave stainless steel FM whip (FM-2G) at the top. Although this FM antenna has no gain, it is omnidirectional and at a top height of over 50', it picks up all stations within an 80 mile radius in full FM quieting (on my modded Sony XDR-F1HD tuner).
