I didn't have space for a dedicated poker table or a portable one in my finished space, so I was looking for options. I looked at and considered some of the folding tops that you put on regular tables. But again, I didn't have space to put out a folding table. My plan was to use the pool table as the base and put something on top. The folding poker tops didn't seem to fit right, and didn't look good in my opinion. They also left a lot of area exposed which could get damaged due to drinks spilling, etc.

So I decided to make one on my own. Pretty simple project and I think it turned out well. It is 3 pieces that can easily be stored when not in use. And it offers full coverage of the pool table for protection.

Black vinyl pool table cover

4'x8'x1/4" piece of finished maple plywood

2'x8'x1/2" piece of MDF

2 yards of "speed cloth"

2 yards of 1/4" padding under speed cloth

Just need to get the wrinkles out of the cover, and possibly add some padding along the rails under the cover.
