Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the Sub Tube (tm)

So tried placing a large volume 26" Downhill Mountain bike tube under my front firing sub and I was pretty happy with the result. It got rid of all the boom and improved the pitch differentiation dramatically. The dynamics and imaging of my floor standers also improved (as I guess they were isolated from the sub).

FWIW I guess there may be some detrimental effect's of floating the sub on air, but you could probably tune it to your satisfaction by adjusting the PSI. I tried about 20psi YMMV.

Of course the air will slowly leak out over time, but using a very thick downhill mtb tube minimizes this. These tubes are huge and weigh about 1,000 grams as compared to the typical 200g mountain bike tube. Adding slime into the tube would work even better.
