Assuming you have a 2.35 (or so) screen or wall, just zoom the lens till the 2.35 material fills the screen and focus. This means that the black bar material is projected below and above the screen. An Oppo BDP-83 or similar will let you move the sub-titles up into the image area. That is all there is.


Depending on the placement of the projector and its zoom characteristics, you might have to move the projector to achieve your goals. Usually not, but it all depends. You would need to move it further from the screen if you have to move it at all.

There quite a few threads on zoom/zooming. The best way to search is using the advance search, title search only. Using "zoom" in the search brought up a number of threads, I thought this one would tackle the basics
