Greetings.

Trying to help out my neighbor here...after hearing my Xbox Spherex 5.1 system he purchased one last night to replace his previous 5.1 system.

While using the same cables previously with the last audio system and the same xbox 360, he is now getting a POP sound every once in a while (every 5 minutes or so) when the system feals like it. This is the same "POP" that is sometimes heard when changing inputs. Only it just happens in the middle of gameplay or a video clip playing back DD5.1 from the xbox 360.

So we are looking for some input as Spherex C.S. is out until Monday.

We have swapped toslink cables and reset the system and devices.

I am considering bringing over my Spherex system to swap in its place to see if its something down the chain from the Spherex system... a toslink connection on the 360? which was fine before. or the amp itself.

cheers.

Just a shot in the dark, but...

I have the analog feed from my PVR to my TV, an the TV can then pass it back to my amp via the TV fiber optic audio out. When I do this, however, I experience exactly what you describe. When I take the PVR fiber optic out directly from the PVR to the receiver, no pop. Seems that the first way causes an "overprocessing" of the signal, which produces artifacts.

Like a said, just a shot in the dark.
